Each week, I'll share a snapshot of my wellness journey—offering insights, challenges, victories, and the small moments of self-discovery that shape my path to better health and well-being. Whether you're here for inspiration, tips, or to connect over shared experiences, I invite you to walk with me as we explore the balance between body, mind, and spirit.
A Strong Start with Unexpected Challenges
Here we go! The start of my wellness journey. Right now, I’m sitting at 86kg and have officially joined the gym. It felt like the right time to take control and make a real change. I went in with good intentions, ready to fuel my body with the right food and get moving.
But, as life would have it, hormones had other plans. Comfort food crept back in, and I found myself reaching for the easy, familiar choices instead of the nourishing ones. It’s frustrating, but I’m trying to remind myself that setbacks don’t mean failure—they’re just part of the process. The important thing is that I’ve taken the first step. This is just the beginning, and I’m determined to keep going.
Zig Ziglar once said, "You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great." Obstacles and challenges will always appear as you begin something new, but the act of starting is what truly matters.
Small Changes, Big Realisations
This week has been a mix of highs and lows, but I’m choosing to focus on the positives. While my weight hasn’t budged, I’ve had some really good, healthy days. I even managed to do a fasting day and a half, which felt like a small victory in itself.
Physically, I’m still feeling uncomfortable—still squeezing into a size 16, still catching my breath more than I’d like. But I’m becoming more mindful of my eating habits. One small change I’ve made is eating dinner earlier so it’s not sitting heavily overnight. It’s a simple shift, but it feels like a step in the right direction. Progress may be slow, but it’s still progress.
It was also an incredibly busy week with two big Master Key Realty events. We sponsored a golf day for the Proston Golf Club, and on Saturday, we held a client appreciation event. On top of appraisals, marketing, and negotiating contracts—not to mention looking after my grandson and our farm—it was hectic, with so much to accomplish. It was easy to use the excuse of "no time to exercise," and of course, stress eating crept in. Being so busy and not thinking ahead to prepare proper lunches or snacks meant I reached for the easy options… and maybe a few too many energy drinks.
But I’m learning and I am being self aware of my downfalls . I can see where I need to make changes, and next time, I’ll be better prepared.

Getting Out of My Own Way
This week, something clicked. I’ve been eating much better—more salads, healthier choices, and incorporating chocolate IsaLean shakes for breakfast. It feels good to be fuelling my body with better nutrition.
And the big milestone? I finally made it to the gym! I’d been putting it off, procrastinating for no real reason other than some built-up, unrealistic fears. But once I got in there, it wasn’t nearly as intimidating as I had imagined. I did a workout—not overly intense, since I don’t have a personal trainer, but enough to get my body moving. I followed the notes on my phone and made it work.
It felt good. Really good. I know I can push myself more, and I will. But for now, I’m proud that I got through that first session. Sometimes, just showing up is the hardest part. Here’s to building on this momentum and seeing where the next week takes me!

Facing the Reality of a Sedentary Lifestyle
This week, I took a different step in my wellness journey—I booked appointments with a chiropractor, physiotherapist, and podiatrist to help with meralgia paresthetica. Can you believe that neither the chiro nor the podiatrist had even heard of this condition? No wonder I’ve been struggling to get the right help! Thankfully, the physio was the most helpful and gave me some direction.
On top of that, I’ve been dealing with really sore Achilles tendons, which the podiatrist explained is due to my muscles being extremely tight and shortened. It’s no surprise, considering I’ve basically spent the last 5–6 years sitting—either at my desk or in the car for about 10 hours a day. It’s frustrating, but I have to own it. I’ve neglected movement for so long, and now I’m feeling the consequences. Weight gain, stress eating, menopause—it’s all compounded into a physical toll that I can’t ignore any longer.
But here’s the positive: I can do something about it. And that’s why you’re reading this journey.
I’ve also started becoming more consistent with taking my Nootropic Elixir and e+ natural energy boost. I’ve noticed that it’s helping me stay focused and energised, which is definitely a plus as I work on creating healthier habits.
Oh, and another first—I attended a group boxing class! It was actually more fun than I expected. Even though I’ve spent my life in customer service, sales, and people-focused businesses, I still struggle with group settings. Meetings, gym classes, anything where I have to be part of a crowd—it makes me anxious. But I pushed through, and you know what? I’m going back. It was that good.
Progress isn’t just about weight loss—it’s about pushing past mental barriers too.

This week, I stepped outside my comfort zone and tried something I never thought I would—colon hydrotherapy at Bayside Colonics. If you had asked me a while ago, I probably would have laughed at the idea, but with a little education and an open mind, I decided to give it a go.
The results? Incredible! The sore, hard belly I had been dealing with disappeared, my bloating reduced significantly, and I felt lighter and more energized overall. Ideally, it’s recommended to have three sessions close together, but living in the country means a 3.5-hour trip each way, so that wasn’t realistic for me. That said, I’m committed to making it a monthly ritual if I can because the benefits were absolutely worth it. While there may be clinics closer to home, the ladies at Bayside Colonics were so knowledgeable and welcoming that I’d happily make the trip back.

This week was all about checking in on my health and indulging in some next-level skin treatments! I visited the doctor for a round of blood tests—because while natural therapies are great, it’s also important to monitor things from a medical perspective.
While on the Sunny Coast, I also treated myself to my first-ever Cryoskin Facial and Advanced Light Therapy for Skin Rejuvenation at Flo Cryo. And wow—what an experience! The facial was not only incredibly relaxing, but my skin felt instantly refreshed and rejuvenated afterward. Definitely something I’d love to incorporate into my routine more often!
This journey continues to remind me that taking care of yourself isn’t just about one thing—it’s about finding a balance of treatments, lifestyle choices, and self-care practices that make you feel your best.

Growing, Building, and Living with Purpose
This week has been a whirlwind—no gym sessions, but plenty of movement in other ways. Between long work hours and spending about 20 hours driving my grandson to and from school, it has been a challenge to fit in structured exercise. But wellness isn’t just about the gym; it’s about balance, and this week, my focus shifted to something just as rewarding—my veggie garden.
I’ve made significant progress in growing fresh, homegrown produce, and it’s exciting to see everything coming to life. We now have mandarins, grapefruit, pawpaw, pineapple, passionfruit, pumpkins, tomatoes, capsicum, onion, cauliflower, strawberries, blueberries, spinach, celery, and peas.
Another exciting update is that we’ve made great progress on our new chicken pen. The plan is to bring in chickens, geese, guinea fowls, and possibly a turkey—we’ll wait and see on that one. Living a life by design means making small, consistent steps toward the bigger picture, and that’s exactly what we’re doing.
We’re growing veggies to be more self-sustainable while also enjoying the process of being in the garden. We’re getting chooks so we can have our own fresh eggs, plus the simple joy of watching them wander, scratch, and peck—it’s good for the soul.
How’s your wellness journey going this week? Let’s keep growing—inside and out.
